Acting for the benefit of AS Ventspils nafta and AS Latvijas Naftas Tranzits, Spilbridge achieve provisional measures against Vitol’s management for LVL 1 million

Acting in the interests of AS Ventspils nafta, its shareholder AS Latvijas Naftas Tranzits had initiated legal proceedings against a number of Management and Supervisory Board Members of AS Ventspils nafta. The amount of the claim is USD 90 million.

Acting for the benefit of the claimant, in December 2011 Spilbridge achieved international provisional measures against a number of defendants, believed to be instructed by Vitol and primarily believed to be responsible for the argued violations giving rise to the claim and its amendments. In April 2012 the Supreme Court has set aside the appeal filed by the defendants.

The defendants concerned by the imposed provisional measures were represented by Eversheds Bitans. Daimars Skutans and Andrejs Eglitis appeared for the benefit of the claimant.
